New book tells the life story of one man, how his career evolved from being a migrant refugee into an Australian citizen and become an engineer in one of the most demanding and exacting industries — aviation

SYDNEY, May 2, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — There are many interesting stories of people in all walks of life, be it personal, professional, or just about their lives. For Peter Marosszéky, the good fortune throughout his life has been manifested by many serendipitous event. Now, he shares the story on how his world developed from an early age with the release of “An Aviation Journey: And a Love Affair with the Boeing 747” (published by Xlibris AU).

This book provides readers an insight into the life of an aviator/engineer and how his career evolved from a migrant refugee into an Australian citizen and became an engineer in one of the most demanding and exacting industries — aviation. It reflects a period of 60 years that Marosszéky has experienced in that time, the changes in technology and the way they have adapted to these changes is inspiring resulting in a world where the yoke of distance and time has been harnessed.

“My journey is almost an adventure and the various experiences are quite unique. It is different and offers an insight into a refugee family and aviation. It is also, about how one man handled the changes in technology and developed the ambition to make these happen,” Marosszéky says. He adds, “The defining moment of my life was the introduction into service of the Boeing 747 series aircraft in 1969, with Pan American World Airways Inc. This was the start of a 51-year experience with this magnificent aircraft, which continues today, and gave my life a special meaning and, I daresay, a privilege to be part of its history.”

When asked what he wants readers to take away from the book, Marosszéky answered, “The greatest challenges that now face the aviation world is the ability to teach and understand the new and in some cases the old technologies to the young aviators. Airlines and aircraft operators are faced with a constant challenge of not only obtaining the right people for the myriad of tasks but also to provide them with the appropriate levels of training regulatory compliance. However, by sharing my story, I hope these young aviators will be inspired to follow their dreams. As long as they are willing to work hard and continue to have faith in God and themselves, they can achieve their goals and be successful.” For more details about the book, please visit https://www.xlibris.com/en-au/bookstore/bookdetails/844047-an-aviation-journey

About the Author

Peter Marosszéky’s love of aviation came late in his youth. Despite his father introducing him to flight, he started when he was 12 years old. His dad taught him to handle and fly a DH82 Tiger Moth. His dad was never too keen on encouraging him for a career in flying as his own experience showed how temporary it could be. In fact, when Marosszéky joined Pan Am, one of the esteemed engineers told him “it is the best temporary job I will ever have!” As young, ultra-keen engineer, it did not faze him too much. As to how he suddenly became interested was his encounter with a partially disassembled Douglas DC3 with cables and wires hanging everywhere. It intrigued him as to how could this thing fly. No to mention the genius that went into the construction and design of aircraft. From that moment, he looked up in newspapers and old magazines anything that would enhance his curiosity, in particular wartime magazines from England, “Aircraft Spotter.” His dad could see that his interest was intense, and so he opened up on his experiences as a test pilot and his war experiences and the rest is history.
